Dr. William Vaughan

DrVDrVDrV Dr. William Vaughan is a native of Oxon Hill, Maryland. He attended  the University of Maryland at College Park  and graduated with a  BS in Biochemistry in 1982.  He then attended the University of Alabama School of Optometry, graduating in 1986.

Dr. Vaughan and his wife, Dr. Laurie Arcolano,  moved to Fayetteville in 1989 and have been in practice together.  They were located in the Tallywood Shopping Center, under the office name of Tallywood Optometric until 2010 when they moved into their new building on Village Drive with the eye care team.

Dr. Vaughan has been active helping the community. He has worked with Better Health for many years to help their clients see better or monitor their diabetic retinopathy. He also performed a  yearly vision screening on all the students at St. Patrick’s School for 15 years. He also volunteers free eye exams and glasses for  the National Society to Prevent Blindness. Dr. Vaughan has been on eight overseas mission trips with VOSH International to help the people of South and Central America with their ocular and vision problems.

Dr. Vaughan has been studying Spanish for the last few years, which comes in very handy on those VOSH trips, as well as working with Spanish-speaking patients in our office. He also enjoys working in his vegetable garden and is an avid chess player.  Dr. Vaughan has been learning ballroom dancing at Roland's Dance studio and danced in the Dancing With The Fayetteville Stars in 2014 and 2016.

Dr.  William Vaughan has two sons and Chase (a rescue dog from The Haven).
