Dr. Laurie Arcolano grew up in Altamont, NY, a small town near Albany. She was the first in her family to attend college, and graduated with a BS in biochemistry from Russell Sage College. She then moved to Birmingham, Alabama to work as a chemist. Her interests moved to eye care and she enrolled in the University of Alabama School of Optometry and graduated in 1987.Dr. Laurie Arcolano, and her husband, Dr. William Vaughan, moved to Fayetteville in 1989 and have been in practice together, as part of the Village Eye Care Team. They were located in the Tallywood Shopping Center, under the office name of Tallywood Optometric until 2010 when they moved into their new building on Village Drive.Dr. Arcolano’s sons had been active in soccer with the Fayetteville Force. She was previously the team manager for the U-15 boys Fayetteville Force soccer team. She is also an officer in the Sandhills Optometric Society. She has volunteered for many years at the St. Patrick School and was a past PTO president. Dr. Arcolano and her husband have been taking ballroom dance lessons at Roland’s Dance studio. She put these lessons to work by performing in the 2015 Fayetteville Dancing With The Stars charity. She has two sons, as well as a rescue dog, Chase.
